SKD Trials for VW South Africa a Complete Success

Kar-Tainer has finalized SKD Trials with Volkswagen South Africa. The OEM plans to use their factory in Uitenhage just outside Port Elizabeth to supply vehicles in SKD mode to Sub-Saharan Africa.

Kar-Tainer has done SKD trials on a range of models manufactured at the plant. Kar-Tainer's solution allows loading of up to 4 SKD vehicles per container, with all related parts needed to fully assemble each vehicle packed together with the vehicle bodies in same container.

Shipments of the SKD vehicles loaded on Kar-Tainer equipment will start in November 2019 from Uitenhage to various African countries where vehicles will be assembled.
